Sickness...

This past week i've been plagued with a cold.  It's one of those illnesses that has been enough to be an annoyance, but not enough to give me an excuse to skip school.  It also seems like school has piled every assignment/test into this week just for my pleasure.  Life has been real busy, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any fun.  I watched BYU suffer a close loss to UNLV, but then redeem themselves with a great comeback win at SDSU last night.  If we don't beat Utah this saturday I might withdraw from school here.  haha.  I'm looking forward to this week being over, and life getting a little bit easier.

Valentines...

So this pic and post may appear to be somewhat femenine, nut you'll just have to forgive me.  Not much about Valentine's day is very manly. This really was the first year that I've had to be concerned and put effort into Valentine's.  I've never had a girlfriend on Valentine's in years past.  It was actually a very good day Jourdon and myself went up to my houseand we made dinner with our friends Jake and Haylee.  Thanks to my mom everything was set up very nicely and we felt like we were wealthy for just this once.  Almost everything went perfectly minus one minor mishap at the end of the date, but that can go unmentioned. Valentine's 09 was extremely succesful.   I also had another funny thing happen to me before Valentine's. I went to get some concert tickets, and i got tix to two different shows, but as I walked out with the tickets I noticed one of the venues is a 21 and over venue.  Seeing as Jourdon is not 21 that doesn;t exactly work out, so I guess I'll have to go with my friend Dan or something.
Also this week blessed me with a five day weekend as opposed to my standard 4 day weekends thanks to BYU changing tuesday's classes to monday's schedule.  I should've spent some of my free time studying, but as seems to always happen to me I waited til the last second and did everything on Wednesday.

SLC...

I'm not really sure why, but my hatred toward the University of Utah grows deeper and deeper every day.  This past saturday me, Jourdon, and 4 other couples went on a big group date up in SLC.  The plan was to catch a Utah Grizzlies hockey game, but we couldn't get seats together so we went over to Hollywood Connection to play some mini golf, and feel like kids again.  There were plenty of teenagers around to make us feel like junior high again. After our experience we headed up to ute territory to enjoy some great pizza at the pi pizzaria.  How could such a terrible place have suuch an excellent pizza hang out?  The pizza there is phenomenol, but we had to be around a slew of utes.  Now don't get me wrong I don't hate all ute fans, just most of them.  To only secure my dislike for them one of the girls on the date accidently left her purse there and didn't notice until we got home.  She called up there and asked them to look where we were sitting to see if it was there.  She called twice to ask this favor and both times they said it wasn't there.  Well she ended up asking a friend to go check, and sure enough it was right where she thought she left it.  I suppose this treatment should be expected from Utes.
Salt Lake isn't all bad, in fact I think it's a great place, it just has a dark spot in it known as U of U.  SLC is the home to the Utah Jazz one of the best home basketball teams in the country.  I'm a huge fan of the team, and I was even able to attend a game this past week.  They obliterated "dirty dirk" and the Dallas Mavericks.  I was extremely happy to watch the Jazz win by nearly 30.  Tonight they face my most hated NBA team - The LA Lakers.  Lets hope the ESA magic continues and D-Will and crew take it em.

Transatanticism

I just want to say how much I enjoy Death Cab for Cutie's album "Transatlanticism."  I consider this to be one of the best albums of all time, and that's not an exaggeration.  The title track has recently taken on a more special meaning in my life so I thought it appropriate to give Death Cab a shout out in the old blog this week.            Life seems to be looking up in the world of BYU sports, but we'll see how long that lasts.  Also, in regards to sports super bowl XLIII was amazing.  I thought nothing would even come close to last years, but this did.  We attended a Super Bowl party at my buddy Dave's apartment ("You're a legend Dave" - fotc-) To my dismay my girlfriend Jourdon convinced me to let my 13 year old little bro Braden attend.  I guess it was fun to have him come because I'm sure he felt pretty cool hanging with a bunch of college students.
